H. Les Brown grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut, and holds master's degrees in philosophy and theology from the University of Ottawa. He spent years in ministry as a priest and spiritual director before a second career in technology and management, retiring in 2015 from Headquarters Marine Corps at the Pentagon.
He published his first novel, We Are Not Saints: The Priest, in 2021, followed by The Acolyte, The Monk, and The Bishop. His latest, Sycamore Boy, stands on its own: the story of how Tony Keating became the man readers of the series already know — first love in rural Illinois, exile to Chicago, and a father's death nobody wanted explained.
He lives in Palm Springs with Craig, his husband of thirty years, and hosts the podcast So You Want to Write a Novel?
