I focus on character in my work, marrying the comedies and tragedies of modern life. My novels are by turns funny, sad, or controversial. I don't consider myself a genre writer, but we have to categorize everything nowadays, so look for my fiction in categories like Satirical, Humorous, and Literary.
My latest book, Hot Scenes, grew out of the comedy I've always loved, and which influenced novels like Miles of Files and Brothers' Hand. The main character, Hollywood director J. Edgar Schnatz, came to me as fully formed as Graham Woodcock in Miles of Files. As I've said in promotional materials for the book, "Does anyone else need a laugh right about now?" I hope I can give people a few belly laughs in this off-the-wall satirical novel.
If you are new to my work, start with Hot Scenes or Miles of Files for the humor, Brothers' Hand or Jana for the heart, and Whizzers when you are ready for something that will stay with you.
